Langsford Funeral Home is owned by Sandra Langsford Cox and her husband Brad Cox. Sandy is a life-long resident of Lee’s Summit and 3rd generation owner. Sandy and Brad have owned the Funeral Home since 1999, and successfully maintained the heritage established by Sandy’s grandfather, N.B. Langsford, while also moving into the 21st century with changing tastes, traditions and expectations of the families we serve. Their son, Jeremy is now the 4th generation to work at the Funeral Home. Since 1934, Langsford Funeral Home has provided the Lee’s Summit area, as well as the entire Kansas City Metro area, the finest in funeral arrangements and facilities. Our reputation as “The Best” is evidenced by over 80 years of service and the multiple generations of families we have helped. Brad and Sandy both enjoy spending time traveling, their families and grandchildren as well as their involvement in numerous philanthropic initiatives.
The Langsford Family has been in Lee’s Summit since the mid-1800’s. On what is today, Langsford Road, they operated a nursery and greenhouse operation. In 1934, N.B. Langsford founded the Langsford Funeral Home. It was then operated by his son, N.B. “Buck” Langsford and his wife Barbara. Today, it is owned and operated by their daughter, Sandy and her husband Brad Cox. Other funeral homes have come and gone in Lee’s Summit, but Langsford’s has remained in continuous service to the community, today being Lee’s Summit’s oldest business.
