Ada Louise Sparks passed away to her heavenly home on July 21, 2020. She was born on October 17th
1942 to Effie and Joseph Lane in Kansas City, Missouri. Ada spent her childhood in Neosho, Missouri and
graduated from Neosho High School in 1960. Ada married her high school sweetheart Amel Sparks, Jr.
and they spent a beautiful 53 years together.
She worked at a corporate office at the start of their marriage and then became a full time home
maker. Ada enjoyed art and was an excellent decorative painter. Her hand writing was so beautiful that
the Hall family of Hallmark Cards asked her to address their personal Christmas cards and she did so for
Ada loved listening to music, painting and giving gifts. She loved her grandchildren, Drew and Hallie and
their spouses and she was over the moon with her great grandson Elliott. She and her daughter shared
a very special bond. Ada was truly the happiest when surrounded by her family sharing stories and
Ada and Amel’s marriage was truly a love story. They enjoyed traveling, movies and listening to Willie
and Waylon. They made each other laugh and were a great example of unconditional love.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri (John), grandson Drew (Hannah), granddaughter Hallie (Dan) and
great grandson Elliott all of Charlotte, NC. By her siblings Jim (LaDonna) of Stockton Lake, Bill, Ralph
(Ann) and Sarah all of Joplin, Mo., and Betty (California). She was preceded in death by her spouse Amel,
her mother Louise, brother Bob and sister in law Sherry.
Graveside funeral service arranged by Langsford funeral home with burial at Lee’s Summit cemetery on
Monday July 27th at 11:00. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or
the American Humane Society.
