Obituary
Alice Taylor, 90, of Greenwood, MO passed away on February 7, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 9-11am at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO. Services will begin at 11am and burial will follow at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 14500 East 42nd Street, Ste 232, Independence, MO 64055.
Alice was born October 6, 1929 in Jackson County, MO. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1947, where she was an avid basketball player. She married Gordon R. (Dick) Taylor on February 20, 1949. Alice helped supplement family income by working at Internal Revenue and then doing child care before working in the office of Burry Truck Line following her and Dick’s purchase of that business.
In later life, Alice belonged to several civic clubs. She was always a devout member of her churches- Lee’s Summit Baptist, Greenwood Baptist, and Greenwood Fellowship.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Taylor and daughter in-law, Janie Taylor. Survivors include her brother, Kenneth R. Hoit, of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Pam (Jeff) Holstead, of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; son, Ernie Taylor, of Greenwood, MO; grandchildren, Rody (Sara) Taylor, of Lee’s Summit, MO, Stacy (Rob) Paszkiewicz, of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Billy Taylor, of Olathe, KS; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

So sorry to hear that Alice has passed away. She and I were the two oldest members of our Greenwood graduating class. I’m so happy that she had such a beautiful family and a fulfilling life. God bless you.
