Obituary

Arvilla (Hunt) Keith, 85 years of age, passed away November 2, 2020 in Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will be held at Fellowship Church (Greenwood Campus), Thursday, November 5 at 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

Arvilla was born to Oliver and Eula Hunt on April 18, 1935 in Hickory Co., MO. Most of her childhood was spent in Phoenix, AZ until her family moved back to Wheatland, MO. After graduating from Wheatland High School as valedictorian, she attended business school in Kansas City. On June 20, 1955, she married her sweetheart, Charles (Byron) Keith, and settled in Prairie Village, KS where he started his teaching career and they began raising a family. In 1963, they moved to Lee’s Summit, MO and stayed in the area for the rest of their lives. Arvilla was an administrative assistant to the principal at Lee’s Summit High School followed by a transfer to the Central Office. She used her exceptional organizational skills to support staff and administrators in the school district until she retired. Byron and Arvilla owned a Christmas tree farm for 40 years serving countless families who came year after year to choose and cut their holiday tree. Without question, however, their greatest accomplishment is the legacy of love and devotion to family and God, passed down to their children and grandchildren.

Arvilla is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Eula Hunt; brother, Robert Hunt; husband, Byron, and her son, Robert (Rob) Keith. She is survived by her two daughters, Kandice (Barry) Jackson, and Terri (Barry) Wilder; Amber Keith (daughter-in-law); grandchildren, Mackenzie Diekmann, Kyle (Meagan) Jackson, Casey (Kevin) Born, and Emilie (Matt) Polk, as well as five great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Greenwood (1601 W. Main St., Greenwood, MO) or Village Hospice (1001 N.W. Chipman Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO, 64081.
