Obituary
Barbara Wells (Strahan) Porter of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was born in Clever, MO in 1940 to Edgar and Leona Wells, and raised in Monett, MO.
Barb raised her family (3 daughters) with husband, Robert Strahan, in the Kansas City, MO area. Her family was the center of her life. Upon her retirement, she moved to Table Rock Lake and spent 15 years enjoying the lake and meeting new friends in the Cape Fair area. In 2013, Barb returned to live in the Kansas City area.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert P. Strahan, and sister Janice Rice.
Survivors include husband James D. Porter; daughters Julie (Mark) Biehl, Susan (Todd) Sexton, and Mary (Jim) Koeppel; stepchildren Eric (Patty) Porter and Jennifer (Tom) Bennett; grandchildren Braden (Kerri) Padget, Dustin (Hannah) Padget, Andrew (Loren) Sexton, and Jessica (Justin) Koegler; step-grandchildren, Alec Bennett, Chad Bennett, Ryan Porter, Allison Porter, Alec O’Connell and Danny O’Connell; and great- grandchildren Alie, Ayries, Miles, Charlotte, Brody, Vivienne, Lennon, Harper, and Elizabeth.
A private Celebration of Barb’s Life and a memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined.

Jim, I am sad to hear of Barb’s passing. Thank you so very much for taking time and letting me know. Barb fought of strong fight with C. I am so glad you two found each other again and had good years together.
I have many fond and fun memories of golfing and lunches with Barb. My dear husband doing handy man work for Barb.
