Obituary
Bernard “Gene” Zvacek, age 89, of Lee’s Summit Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at the John Knox Village Care Center. Born on February 17, 1935, in Holden, Missouri, he was the son of the late Joe and Edna (Goff) Zvacek.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lena “Riffle” Zvacek, who passed away in January 2023, and his son, David Zvacek, who passed away in December 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Anne (Zvacek) Rasco, son-in-law Jason Rasco and daughter-in-law Alice (Carlson) Zvacek; grandchildren, Julianne (Zvacek) Fields and her husband Gabe, Glen Zvacek and his wife Shannon (Pettibon) Zvacek, Abigail Rasco, and Brooklyn Rasco; and great-granddaughter Mikayla Fields.
Gene was also preceded in death by all his siblings: Rosemary Jokubeit, Lucille Marie Daldrup, Josephine Banes, Frances Baldwin, Oscar Zvacek, Vernon Zvacek, and Lawrence Zvacek.
A dedicated professional, Gene worked as a credit manager for Milgram’s Grocery and Coca-Cola Bottling for most of his career. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family and church.
Gene had a lifelong passion for sports and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, visiting every state in the U.S. and exploring countries abroad. He cherished time spent at the family farm and particularly loved playing with his grandchildren.
His warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who know him.
Gene’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
