Obituary

Betty Ann Kasinger, 82, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Betty was born April 12, 1941, in Flippin, AR, a middle child of 13 to Claude and Burlie Burks. She was married to Herman Kasinger June 25, 1957. To their union, they had 3 children. They welcomed their daughter, Tammy, in 1960 in Mountain Home, AR. In 1962, son Timothy Kasinger was born in Phoenix, AZ. After moving for Herman’s work over the next several years, their family settled in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Betty helped to support her family by waitressing and later in food services at Lee’s Summit High School. She left an impact on students and coworkers with her friendly, caring personality.

Betty was strong in her Christian faith and love for her family. She enjoyed cooking big meals and baking desserts for gatherings of family and friends. She will be remembered fondly as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, infant son, infant granddaughter, and daughter, Tammy. She is survived by her husband, Herman, and son, Timothy. As well as her grandsons, Nathan Pirie (Sally), Timothy Kasinger Jr., Tyler Kasinger, and Cash Kasinger. As well as her great-grandchildren, Alaina Pirie, Corbin Pirie, Breanna Kasinger, Ariana Kasinger, and Isaiah Kasinger, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 2023, at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Services will be held at the same location following the visitation at 2:00 P.M., followed by burial in the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.
