Obituary

Bobbie Gene Stoneking, 82 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023. Bob had such a strong and beautiful love for his family. His charismatic personality attracted many where he developed so many wonderful friendships throughout his life. Bob was born in Huntingdale, MO to Frankie and Kathryn Stoneking. He had one sibling, Shirley Flick of which he always watched over and protected. He graduated in 1958 from Clinton High School and spent 6 years in the Army National Guard.

Bob was married to June Stoneking for 61 years. They raised 2 children: Jeff Stoneking (Wife, Lisa), and daughter, Karla Stoneking (Fiancé, Dave Tonnies). Bob was blessed with one grandchild, Emily Stoneking.
His career was quite broad. Throughout his career life, Bob worked at Simes Shoe Store in High School, followed by Clearfield Cheese in sales. He then started his own printing business “Stoneking Printing”,  while also working at Elko Photo running a printing press. He finally retired in car sales from Landmark Dodge where he had the privilege of meeting so many and developing long-lasting relationships. There was a reason why he was a successful salesman, his character, his honesty, and an overall love for people.
Bob gave back to his community and was a long-time member of the Fairmont Lions Club for over 20 years. He coached Jeff’s youth baseball teams and enjoyed listening and watching Karla perform at various events.
One of Bob’s favorite things to do was watch the Kansas City Royals play. In his lifetime, he also enjoyed square dancing, camping, boating, fishing, traveling, and telling jokes.
Making his family happy in everything they did together was what he longed for each and every day. He was truly one of the most selfless human beings one could meet.

Jeff, Lisa and Emily! My thoughts with you and all the family at this time. I remember the first time I met Bob in the office years ago, and he told me a joke with a photo of Joy dishwashing bottle. I wish could recall the joke now!

June, I am indeed sorry for the loss of your husband. Many prayers of peace be with you during this very hard time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bobbie was such a sweet and funny guy💗
