Obituary

Bridget (Burbidge) Darnell, 54, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, November 10, 2023, and is already missed by friends and family who loved her.

Bridget was born September 25, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sue and Theodore Burbidge II, but lived most of her growing up years in Grandview, Missouri, graduating Grandview High School in 1987. As an adult her primary residence was Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Myers, and her grandmother, Wanda Haines. She is survived by her loving husband David Darnell and two sons, Nicholas Cooper and Kyle Darnell, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Stacy Burbidge and their three children, Alex, Jonathan and Brooke of Olathe, Kansas; her sister Katie Burbidge and her three children, Austin Hedges, Andrew Murry, and Zack Murry of Lee’s Summit and Springfield, Missouri, respectively; her mother’s sisters, Jo Ann House and Bonnie Fullmer, who were more like mother figures than aunts in her life after the passing of her mom, and her uncles and many cousins.

Bridget resided in the Kansas City area her whole life, raising her family and being a light for everyone she knew, providing an ear to listen. She was generous in spirit and deeds, and never hesitated to help anyone in need when she was able. More than anything, Bridget was a devoted mother, and her sons were the light of her life and her greatest joy that she threw herself into, completely. She and Dave made a good life for themselves and their sons. Bridget loved 80’s music, the colors pink and purple, and everything Disney (particularly Disney Princess).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063, with funeral services immediately following the visitation. Burial in Floral Hills East Memorial Garden, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086 after services.

The family suggests bringing a single flower or written memory for Bridget, in lieu of flowers.
