Obituary
February 25,1932 to January 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Carmen left this world on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Carmen graciously lived a long, healthy, beautiful life. Carmen married her loving husband, Jack Evans, after a short courtship, on August 8, 1957. Carmen and Jack had 66 wonderful years of marriage and selflessly raised five children, Jackie Bosworth, Vickie Anderson, Bonnie Stroup, Larry Evans and Kim Evans. Carmen adored her family and was a doting grandmother to Jennifer, Aron, Derek, Jason, Jonathon, Nick, Kristin, Megan and Ross, great-grandmother to Luca, Viviana, Grayson, Shepard, Bailey, Gage, Katie, Ben, Mia and Alaina and Auntie to dozens of nieces and nephews.
Carmen was a dedicated supervisor for Western Electric/AT&T for 32 years, until retiring in 1988 . After retiring, she spent many years pursuing her hobby of making porcelain dolls. Carmen gave to her family and friends without reservation. She was very talented and artistic. She was a wonderful seamstress who lovingly made clothes for her daughters and her sister’s wedding dress. She also enjoyed volunteering her time and playing the piano (which she played by ear) at her church and John Knox Village. Whatever Carmen put her hands to she did with excellence.
She will be forever missed by all who loved her.
Services will be held at Langsford Funeral Home, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on January 16, 2025 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity near to your heart in memory of Carmen R. Evans.
