Obituary

Cotella England – Norton (Mullins), age 88, of Nixa, Missouri went home to be with Jesus and all those that went before who greeted her with open arms and joyful hearts on February 19, 2023.

Cotella England – Norton (Mullins) was born on April 3, 1934, in Grays Knob, Kentucky to Cossie and Silvia Mullins (Siller). She went to live with Cossie and Marie Mullins (Lambert) at the age of 12.

Cotella was well-loved in her small town of Nixa. She raised six children and was a surrogate mother and grandma to many and always made time for everyone. She continuously provided love and support, working tirelessly to provide for her family. Her door was always open for her family to return home if and when needed. Although her formal education was limited, due to her multiple talents, you would never know. She was a fur hatter and expert seamstress making everything from clothes and coats to upholstering furniture. Her patience and love for her family showed in each stitch of the beautiful, multicolored afghan’s she crocheted for her family; so that they could always be warm and wrapped in her love. She was fearless and would try anything, even landing a part as an extra in a movie in the 70’s. Cotella was known for her quick wit and clever sense of humor. Her family can attest that she was a “professional” Yahtzee player. Cotella loved to boast about her children and grandchildren to anyone willing to listen. She never knew a stranger and even though she migrated to Missouri she never lost her southern charm and hospitality. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, making crafts with her grand babies, making apple cider and holiday decorations. She loved teaching others how to cook and make family recipes that had been passed down through generations. You could taste the love she had for cooking as it poured into everything she made. Although she had done many great things and had many accomplishments, she always said her best and greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her brother Benny Mullins, sister-in-law Sandy Mullins, son-in-law Larry Trammell, her children; Debra Hudgens, Danny (Kathy) Norton, Dale Norton, LaVonda (Daryl) Montgomery, Eddie (Mary) England.

Grandchildren: Jeremiah “Jamie” (Angie) Neuhaus, Tina Johansson (Norton), Jason (Jamie) Norton, Barbara “Barbie” Chain (Norton), Buddy (Stacey) Montgomery, Sarah England, Hannah Montgomery, Stephen (Emma) England, Seth (Mika) England
