Obituary
Danna Kobel, 82, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on December 23, 2024. She was born on August 9, 1942, in Independence, Missouri.
Danna was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She spent most of her life in the Kansas City metro, where she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a huge animal lover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Kobel, with whom she shared 30 wonderful years of marriage, and her parents Glenn and Mildred Lasher.
Throughout her career, Danna held various administrative positions, but her heart was in her work as a paraprofessional at an elementary school, where she dedicated herself to helping children with special needs. In her leisure time, she was an avid supporter of her Kansas City Chiefs, never missing a game on TV. Danna’s loyalty to the Chiefs was evident every Red Friday and game day when she proudly wore her collection of Chiefs fan gear, from jerseys to purses, embodying the spirit of the team. She was also a passionate reader, and she cherished her pets, especially her most recent kitty, Cali, who also survives her.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Shawna Allen (Chuck) and Brenda Durham (Kenny), and her six grandchildren: Sophia Allen, Nicholas Allen, Isabelle Allen, Grant Durham, Noah Durham, and Faith Durham. Danna is also survived by her younger sister, Belinda Crum, and her husband, Donald.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Danna’s life and lay her to rest will be held on December 28, 2024, at 10AM at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery in Lee’s Summit, MO 806 SE 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.
Danna will be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her for her kindness, faithfulness, and her compassion towards animals.
