Obituary

Darrell Quinn Arends, 67, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2024, at home. A celebration of life will be held at the Langsford Funeral Home on May 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Darrell was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 8, 1956. He grew up in Lee’s Summit and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1974. He later attended classes at Longview Community College and worked for Armco Steel, then Lance Inc. most of his career. He was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time watching sports, all sports, but especially the KC Chiefs. His hobby of buying, selling, and trading turned into a lifelong passion. He had a contagious fun spirit, his outgoing personality and the ability to talk to anyone that would listen will forever be missed.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents Clifford Leroy Arends and Wanda Arlene Arends. He is survived by his two daughters, Charity Rincker (Jared) of Grain Valley, MO, Mandy Chancery (Kris) of Flomaton, AL; six grandchildren, Gavin Wolfe, Kameryn Wolfe, Emory Wolfe, Owen Chancery, Caden Chancery, and Camilla Chancery; a brother, Bryan Arends (Debbie); and nephew, Matt Arends (Jessica).
