Obituary

Dee (Wayne) Lathrop, age 83, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 8th, 2024. Wayne was born on April 5th, 1941, in Pierce City, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Deanna Lathrop, his mother Ida Lathrop, his father Dee Lathrop, as well as his brother Richard Lathrop and sister Jean Landoll. Wayne is survived by his daughter Debbie Polley, son Todd Lathrop and his wife Melissa; and his grandchildren Bret Polley and his wife Candace, Garret Buie, Grant Lathrop, Kelsey Lathrop and her fiancé Chris Flading.

Wayne will be remembered fondly for his remarkable skills in re-building cars, transforming discarded items into valuable treasures, and remodeling homes. His passion for salvaging and creating was evident in everything he touched. Wayne cherished family camping trips, particularly to Colorado and Branson, and had a deep love for mountain trailing. His retirement years were spent enjoying winters in Orlando, where he and Dee worked part-time for Disney, creating countless cherished memories and family trips to the parks. Above all, Wayne was a devoted family man who would do anything for his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Langsford Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21st, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by the memorial service at 10:30 am, with burial services at Lees Summit Cemetery.
