Obituary
Dennis Ray McVey, of Holden, MO, was born November 13, 1963. He left this world May 13, 2024.
He leaves behind his wife Becky, his son Robert Lee, a granddaughter McKenna (the joy of his life), two sisters, Carol Hix and Gail Sprecher, and eight nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his love of his family and his love of the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Holden, MO Masonic Lodge, to be set aside for the high school senior scholarship fund.
The main gate to Powell Gardens will be closed on Tuesday. When coming in from the 50 Hwy entrance, turn right at the stop sign and take the first left into the gardens. There will be a sign that says Chapel Entrance.

Dear Robert Lee, Becky, Gail, Carol and family,
Our hearts are broken. As the youngest cousin, I always looked up to Dennis. He was the cool older teenager when I was just a kid. One of my sweetest memories is being down there and him making me a cassette recording of the “new” Bruce Springsteen album “Glory Days” that he had just bought. I felt so grown up and special. To this day it’s one of my favorites and I think of him and his kindness to me every time I hear one of those songs. I pray for the Lord’s comfort and peace to surround each of you and that you feel His hands holding you close. We love each and every one of you dearly.
