Obituary

Donna Mae Smith, 71, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026. She was born on January 30, 1955, and lived a life centered on her family.

Donna was a loving mother and a proud grandmother who found joy in spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Justin Mitchell and his wife Julie, and Brenten Smith and his wife Tiffany. She was a cherished grandmother to Gavin, Audrey, Wyatt, Owen, Charlie, and Lucy, all of whom brought immense happiness to her life.

Her work centered around customer service and administrative support, where she was known for being organized and detail-oriented. She loved to cook and bake desserts for her grandchildren and enjoyed shopping for antique furniture deals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Wanda Collins; her siblings, Melvin Jr. Collins and Becky Collins; and Kenneth Smith, father of her son Brenten and stepfather to her son Justin.

Donna will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at Langsford Funeral Home, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on May 1, 2026, at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and loved ones consider donating blood or platelets to a local community blood bank in support of those in need of life-saving blood products.
