Doris Ann (Ethridge) Smith McClasky
Doris Ann, 85, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Doris Ann was born on August 26, 1933 in Greenwood, Missouri. She was the daughter of Wessley and Anna Ethridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Clifford Wade Smith; four brothers, Floyd, Clifton, Cleautis, and Lloyd; and her husbands, William Warren Smith and Charles R. “Shorty” McClasky. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Doris Ann was a member of the Strasburg Baptist Church and V.F.W. Post 3118 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She also worked at Unity School for 42 years.

My condolences on Doris’s passing. I was her last mail carrier in Pleasant Hill before she moved to Lee’s Summit. Doris was a unique woman–she knew what she wanted and was full of spunk. I greatly enjoyed my time with her. Unfortunately I cannot make the services today due to work. It is our busy time of the year and not enough people to do the work to be able to take off.
