DOROTHY NADINE PARSONS, TOWNS

BORN – 5/5/1929, DIED – 7/29/2022

Dorothy Nadine Parsons, 93, Lee’s Summit, Missouri died Thursday at Center Pointe Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born near Ulman Missouri to JOHN MONROE PARSONS and PATSIE JANE BEARD and was the tenth of eleven children and raised on the family farm. She graduated from the School of the Osage High School, Osage Beach Missouri, and after graduation moved to Kansas City and became a hair stylist.

She met her future husband BILL TOWNS, a Kansas City Police Officer, at a wedding party of a mutual friend, and they were married OCTOBER 1, 1950. Three years later, their only child JOSEPH ALAN TOWNS was born, and the couple moved to a new home in Ruskin Heights. After the tornado of May 20, 1957, they relocated to the Lee’s Summit area where she was employed at Western Electric retiring in 1985.

The couple then settled in the Cole Camp, Missouri area until the passing of her husband in February of 2014. At that time, she returned to Lee’s Summit and resided at John Knox Village. After a brief illness she passed away peacefully.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Monroe, and Patsie Jane Parsons of Ulman, Missouri. Her Brothers, Glen Parsons, Henry Parsons, Gene Parsons, Bobby Parsons. Sisters, Wilma, Evelyn, Mildred, Opal, Nora. Great Grandchildren, Ande Marie, and Cameron James Towns

She is survived by her son, JOSEPH ALAN TOWNS, and her youngest brother JACK PARSONS of Kansas City. Two Grandsons, JOSEPH ALLAN TOWNS, Commander USN, his wife Lori, and CHRISTOPHER MATTHEW TOWNS, Attorney, his wife Jeannie. Four Grandchildren, Jonathan, Garrett, Naomi, and Charlie

Services to be graveside at the family plot in Eldon Cemetery, Eldon, Missouri with immediate family in attendance.
