Obituary

Dorthey Louise Gillespie of Warsaw, MO (formerly from Independence, MO) died peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2021. She was born Jacqueline Joyce Filson on December 28, 1933 and adopted by Walter and Virginia Robinett at the age of 8 months old. Her name was then changed to Dorthey Louise Robinett. She was married to Charles C. Perdue in September of 1951 until his death in 1992. Dorthey worked at Luce Luggage in Kansas City from late 50’s until middle 70’s and from middle 70’s until late 90’s at Bendix (now Honeywell).

During her younger years she enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and riding motorcycles. Later in life, she started collecting dolls and loved going to see Country Music Shows in the area.

Dorthey is survived by her son, Charles R. Perdue of Trenton, MO, two daughters, Candy Purcell of Warsaw, MO, and Deborah R. Stone (Steve) of Independence, MO, 3 Grandsons Michael Lee Forrest (Katrina Lewis), Dale Wayne Forrest, and Christopher Shawn (Stacy) Forrest, 2 Granddaughters Melanie Rachel Salstrom (Sean), and Tammy Lynn Willis (Shawn). She has 16 Great Grandchildren, 20 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd, Lee’s Summit, MO with a visitation at 10:00 AM. Burial at Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
