Obituary
Erma Belle Emery, born on January 27, 1934, in Cherokee County, Ks., peacefully passed away on May 5, 2024, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 90. She was employed by Southland Corp. where she met her beloved husband, Gale, and later retired from DFS for the State of Missouri.
Erma was a wonderful artist, a lover of attending dinner theater, and found great joy in hosting large family gatherings and celebrations. She cherished traveling across the United States and enjoyed spending her retirement in the garden.
Erma will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her surviving daughters Jacqulyn LaForte, Michelle Schmidt and husband Will, Alisha Emery, Kayla Laffoon and husband Chris, her niece Laurie Boles and husband James, grandson Quentin Schmidt and wife Beth, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Emery, mother Ila Belle Link, sister Mary Anne Clevenger, sister Lois Jean Drigalla, and grandchildren Dawn and John Parkhurst.
Erma worshiped at Christ United Methodist of Independence, Mo. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, Mo 64063, starting at 9am, with services following at 10am.

Erma: I will never forget our time together. I remember when i was pregnant with Brittny. You went out and found all these beautiful outfits for her and spent hours washing them and they all looked brand new. I was so greatful. You babysat Brittny when she was little when i needed help. I truly believe we had a special bond, even after all these years. I will never forget you. Love you always. Please give my brothers, sister, Granny, Gale, Aunt Jeannie, and all our family in heaven lots of love and hugs from us who are left behind and we will see you all again when God calls us home.
