Obituary

Born April 30, 1922, to Walter and Stella Hawks. She and her twin sister Fern were raised on the family farm outside Holton, Kansas. After the graduation from high school, Fay completed a secretarial course and moved to Kansas City. She worked at the Mercantile Bank downtown for a number of years and then as a bookkeeper for a private accounting firm.

She met and married Edward Raining. Together they raised three children (Walter, Luana, and Kathy). Over the years Fay and Ed developed a love of antiques and genealogy. Weekends were spent at the lake or going to auctions. After retiring, Fay and Ed traveled through the southwest with their RV.

When Ed died in 2006, Fay and her son Wally started collecting fishing lures, joining NFLCC. They traveled around the Midwest going to conventions. At the age of 99, Fay decided to stop traveling.

Due to health issues, she spent the last year of her life at Jefferson Health Care where the staff became her extended family. Fay passed January 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her Husband (Ed) and son (Wally). She leaves two daughters (Lonnie and Kathy/Lawrence), two granddaughters, and five great grandchildren.
