Obituary

Frank J. Bowers Sr., 94, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Ignite St. Mary’s.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of the Presentation, 130 NW Murray Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Mass will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Lexington, Missouri.

F.J. was born October 10, 1928, in Lexington, MO. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Barker, in 1946, which lasted until her death in 2012.

He worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant, and Bendix/Honeywell from which he retired in 1989.

F.J. was big on family. He enjoyed time spent with grandkids, at home in the pool and cooking for everyone most Sundays. Las Vegas or cruises were a yearly event with his family of in-laws.

F.J. was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, his daughter Barbie Ann, his parents, brother, and beloved sisters and brother-in-law.

He is survived by three daughters; Debbie Pruente (Charlie), Terrie Maloney, Kathy Hays, and one son Frank Bowers Jr. (Gina), 9 grandchildren; Pat, Chaz, Matt, Darren, Sara, Elle, Emi, Sydney and Payton; 11 great-grandchildren: Ruby, Callahan, Keegan, Mac, Mylo, Dannie, Beckett, Hudson, Charlie Mae, Everly and Quinn. More than in-laws; Brenda/Allen Ruark, Berniece/Jim Hanes, and many nieces and nephews.

F.J. is forever loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Ascend Hospice.
