I remember George more as a child than an adult. We were cousins who grew up in the same era. I know he was a good man and was devoted to his family. So sorry for your loss.

Ginger, we were so sorry to hear of George’s passing. Sending our love to you and your family and praying for comfort. Joyce & Gary Howard

I always enjoyed listening to his insights/thoughts in our small group for church. He was a great man who was devoted to his family, church and God. I am praying for you all throughout this difficult time.
Isaiah 41:10 –
“Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”

We will miss our dear friend George and his unique sense of humor. All the good times we shared with him and Karen are memorable. God bless you Karen and may He keep you close and give you the comfort you need during this sad time. We love you.

George was one of a kind! I will remember his jokes and his passion for his faith and beliefs. His stories of his life and experiences were amazing. He had done so much in his life. I am so thankful for the time I got to know George in our small group, I only wish I had longer. I know he is with our Lord and he is home. And that brings me peace!

From grade school at St Bernadette’s to O’Hara, George was always the strong silent type. He had strong opinions but a heart of gold. Many called him friend. He had a twinkle in his eye most of the time, like he knew a secret and wanted to tell it, but didn’t. My condolences to his extended family, and to his wife, Karen. He will be missed.

I lived across the street from George and his family on Northern in Raytown. George was two years older than me. I remember George as quiet and strong. He and his sister put on summer camp in their basement for us neighbor hood kids. He was kind and I always had a good feeling about him. The Lauers had the only bicycle on the block and a steep driveway. You learned to ride by being launched down that driveway. My sister Pam was Georges age. Pam says George was her first boyfriend. Then she said all the brothers were her boyfriends. My most vivid recall of George was when I was in 6th grade at St. Bernadettes and George in 8th. I came out to recess late. George and a boy named Joe were on the sidewalk in front of me and Sister Adelaide was looking up to George with both hands patting him on the chest. In a flash George shot a punch over Sister and down went Joe. Knowing George growing up I had no doubt that Joe had it coming. I was three feet away and gave my first person account many times over the next few days. I also learned Joe had it coming. Ive always kept a good feeling about George.

So very sorry to hear of Georges’ passing. George and I worked together at Safeway Stores. George was my assistant mgr in two different stores and was not only a very good assistant mgr but also, a good person and friend. Last I spoke with him he was driving over the road. God Rest his soul.
My sincerest condolences to all his family.
Regards
David Gunter
