Obituary
Geraldine “Jerry” Lea Holt, 78, Lee’s Summit MO, passed away May 19, 2024. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on May 23 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO. A Funeral Mass honoring Jerry will be at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Blue Springs, MO. Following the mass, there will be a gathering for family and friends at the parish.
Jerry’s family and faith were the two strongest pillars of her life. She was a strong center surrounded by her children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors, helping in whatever ways she could. Jerry had many passions including gardening, hosting, tutoring, and sewing to name a few. Jerry was most recently a member of St Margaret’s of Scotland parish but was an active member and contributor to the Catholic Church. As the first female electrical engineer in her organization at AT&T, she took pride in teaching and was still tutoring math to high schoolers until 2020.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Lori E. Thate, Father, Cecil Rufus Randall, Mother, Alice Randall (Flack), and brother Robert Randall.
She is survived by her son Randy (Stacey) Thate, son Andy (Elizabeth) Holt, grandchildren Jared (Coco), Ellen, Kayla Thate, and great grandchildren Lena, Lucia, and Renato, siblings Charlie Randall, Joan Williams, Ray Randall, Roger (Becky) Randall, and Ruth (Don) Hicks. Contributions may be made to the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.

May the Lord console all of Gerri’s family, as they mourn her loss. She was our neighbor for many years. May Our Lord welcome her to eternal life with all the angels and saints. Our prayers are for her family she left behind.
Geri and I worked together in Scouts and we both went through Breast Cancer Treatment at St. Luke’s East. I loved Geri and enjoyed her company.
She hosted gatherings in her home for the boys and Andrew MC’ed my nieces wedding way back when.
We are so sorry for the loss of your precious Mother and pray Holy Spirit’s Comforter will surround you with the love of family, friends, and the blessings of memories as you navigate the days ahead.

Jerry was a mainstay with the Lee’s Summit High School Class of 1963, always helping with our reunions and gatherings. She is fondly remembered and greatly missed.
