Obituary

Ginger Blackmon, age 48, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on December 2, 2025 following an unexpected medical event. Ginger was born on March 26, 1977, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University. She worked at Honeywell Aerospace as a Senior Buyer, recently receiving a global recognition award. Ginger was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend. To know Ginger was to love her. Her favorite activities included coffee in the morning and white wine on the patio in the evening, watching scary movies and rom-com’s, decorating for Christmas the day after Halloween, enjoying pool days in the summer and cozy nights in front of the fire in the winter, hanging out with her dog Allie, and sending daily streams of messages and jokes to her friends.  But most of all, she loved her children and would do anything for them. Ginger will always be remembered for being genuine, her infectious smile, and the laughter and the joy she brought into the lives of others. Ginger is survived by her two children, Paige Sartain (age 17) and Chase Younker (age 13), her aunt and uncle, Francie and Marion Shauffler, her brother, Stephen Blackmon, her niece, Madison Reardon, her partner, Jason Kessler, and many close friends, all of whom miss her dearly.  She is preceeded in death by her parents, Michael and Ann Blackmon. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at Symtech, 524 SE Transport Drive, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64081. In lieu of flowers, Ginger would want you to hug your kids tight, gather your friends near, pour a glass of wine, and toast to her memory.
