Obituary

Glenn Allen Wheeler, TSGT, U.S. Air Force-Retired, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, died of injuries resulting from an ultralight accident on December 3, 2021.
Glenn was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 7, 1956 to Derrel B. and Jo Ann (Wallace) Wheeler. After graduating in 1974 from Hickman Mills High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force in June. He spent the next 20 years as a highly respected Crew Chief and Aviation Mechanic for B-52 and C130 aircraft. Glenn retired in November 1994 after serving with honor and distinction. For the last 17 years, he worked for Cass Regional Medical Center in the maintenance department.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father Derrel B. Wheeler, his brother Thomas W. Wheeler and his son, CPL Lucas B. Wheeler, U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Laurah J. (Mitchener) Wheeler, his mother Jo Ann Wheeler, his son Pastor Matthew A. Wheeler and daughter-in-law Crystal. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Jade, Layla, Mason and Gwyneth Wheeler.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM the following day, Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Immediately after the service, Glenn will be laid to rest at the foot of his son Lucas, at the Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery (HWY 291 and third street).

Mrs Wheeler, I am so sorry to y about Glenn, I worked with him for all the time he worked at Cass, I have been there for 21 yrs I’m the kitchen, of course he had to repair alot of equipment. He was a very nice to work with and s good sense of humor. He will be missed terribly
