Steven, Chris and families,

Thank you for conducting such a warm and heartfelt memorial service for your parents. Because of our parents nearly 70 years friendship, “Jack & Barb” were always a part of my life and that of my siblings, Brent and Diana. The three of us and the three of you formed a kind friendship that is oddly emotional for having only stayed at your home 5 times between 1970 and 1980. We had/have a very common upbringing with our lives crisscrossing I-70 to I-29 more times than I can count. But, every stay, movie, water skiing adventure or just a meal somewhere along those interstates was an event that burned into my memory.

The last time I saw your parents was in 2011 after my father’s funeral. I was driving my mother home and we stopped to have lunch with Jack and Barb -as we do. This was the “tying to convince my mother to move to Lee’s Summit lunch.” But, what I remember most was your Dad and I embracing as we left, crying uncontrollably.

Jack and Barb thank for everything.

Scott
