Obituary

Jacqueline Sue Tavener, 72, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on May 23, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1952.

Jacqueline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and love for family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald J. Tavener; daughter, Amy Jo Mitchell; son, Michael Frank; three granddaughters and one grandson; sister, Connie Reed; and brother, Ron Allison.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and grandson.

Throughout her life, Jacqueline worked as a hair stylist and later as a loan officer, where she built lasting relationships through her caring spirit and dedication. She enjoyed traveling to the ocean, taking treasured trips with her sister, and spending time golfing with her husband. The moments she shared with family and loved ones were among her greatest joys.

A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will be held at Unity Village in Jackson County, Missouri, on June 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and honor of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to cancer research through the American Association for Cancer Research.

Jacqueline will be remembered for her loving heart, adventurous spirit, and deep devotion to those she cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
