Obituary

Jim was born April 11, 1937, in Harrisonville, MO at the family home. He was 86 years old. Jim served in the United States Marine Core and served from June 1954 to October 1956 during the Korean War. He served in the US Marine Core Reserves after his discharge for one year.

Jeff said his Dad enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening. I remember taking long family road trips when I was a kid and was something I’ll never forget. I remember my Dad and I throwing snowballs at my man at a crater lake in Oregon on one of our trips. My Dad also loved being a rockhound. When we went on our trips, we also brought back many rocks which my Dad put in our family yard.

Jim leaves his wife, Gloria Risner of the home. They were married 63 years. He also leaves a son, Jeff Risner and his wife Sandy, Springfield, MO. Two grandchildren Stefanie and Ian Risner of Kansas City, Mo. He leaves two· sisters, many nieces and nephew and great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his son Vince Risner, his grandson Derek Risner, two brothers and a sister.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
