Obituary

James (Jim) S. Capoot, 88, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on January 30, 2021. He was born in Kansas City, MO on September 27, 1932 to James Stanley Capoot and Bernice Capoot.

He worked at Bendix (Honeywell) and served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janiece, son James Steven Capoot and sisters Ruth Green and Bonnie Silver.

He is survived by daughter-in-law Julie Capoot of Lee’s Summit; grandsons Michael Layden and Calvin (Danielle) Layden Jr., great-grandsons Calvin III, Clayton, Cole and Chase Layden, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be February 3, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Langsford Funeral Home, followed by graveside service at the Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research or the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
