Obituary

Jeanne Jo (Balk) Froehlich passed away on December 17th, 2023, at the age of 81, from natural causes. Jean was born October 9th,1942 in Algona, Iowa to Richard and Juanita Balk.
Jean was raised on the family farm near Algona with her younger brothers Dick and Mike Balk who are still with us today. She attended Garrigan High School in Algona where she graduated in 1961.

Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years Leonard Froehlich, daughter Debra LaVelle & husband Kevin LaVelle, sons Ron & wife Claudia Froehlich and Steve & wife Tami Froehlich. Grandchildren Shelby and Troy LaVelle. Kevin, Darcy, Clay, Jeremii, Tara, Zach and Nick Froehlich and several great grandchildren.

Jeans services will be at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St, Lee’s Summit, Mo. on December 21st, 2023. There will be a visitation starting at 9am followed by a service at 10am. Anyone that wants to attend is welcome.

Jean was an incredibly sweet woman and a loving wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother to our entire family. Her presence will truly be missed. We wish that she rests in peace knowing that her love has inspired an entire generation of her heirs to be better loving people as she was.
