Obituary
Jessie Norman Trundle was born on December 22nd, 1942 in Lone Jack, MO and passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by loved ones on January 5th, 2026 at the age of 83, in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Jessie served in the Army as a Private 1st Class E-3 from Nov. 1966-1969 and the National guard from 1974-1977. He was also a proud Fire Fighter with the Lee’s Summit Fire Department from 1971-1977.
Jessie met his wife Connie (Susie) Constable over the CB radio in 1970 as McCloud (Jessie) and Gidgit (Connie). They married on November 5th 1971 and shared 55 loving years together building their home and family.
Jessie was known to be a very reserved quiet man, but those who were close to him knew his big smile and goofy personality. Most assumed he was not listening or actively involved in the activities and conversations going on at home while he was in his comfy chair playing solitaire on his computer. One would come to find that he listened to all that went on even if he was not right in the room. He played and joked with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by pinching their cheeks and using his donald duck noises, or playing with their hair to get them to laugh. He loved to be ornery with his Wife Connie (Susie) on a daily basis to keep her on her toes.
His day to day activities he enjoyed were feeding his squirrels and birds in the front and back yard, going on car rides with Susie to Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and Lowes. He also had a love for all his western shows, especially John Wayne. In his spaces you would see John Wayne pictures plastered all over the walls with some picture frames he made himself. He loved to look out the big front window or front door to watch the neighborhood or his grandchildren or great grandchildren play outside. At meal times you would find him in his special chair, with his special spoon or fork, eating his meal his loving wife prepared for him and sharing with his big eared dog Poncho.
In his younger years he had a love for cars and enjoyed taking his 1955 Ford Farelane nicknamed “Susie Q” or 1957 Ford Panel Truck to the Cow Town USA car shows. You could find him in his driveway or garage working on one of his or a family member’s car. Riding Harleys , horses and skateboarding late into the night with Connie (Susie) and his kids. He also looked forward to his vacations to Branson with Susie every year for many years, where they would enjoy silver dollar city, segway rides, and the Baldknobbers.
Jessie Trundle will be remembered by his wife Connie (Susie) Trundle, son Jesse Ray Trundle, daughter & son-in-law Georegetta & Brent Ulrich, his Sister Lila Stark. Grandchildren Cherish VanGordon, Cory & Tasha VanGordon, Christopher VanGordon. Great Grand Children Aidan, Chyanne, Brentley, Annastasia, and 6 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse & Vera Trundle, brother Ed Trundle, brother and sister-in-law Jack & Joe Trundle.
The family will be honoring him with Military Honors at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery in Missouri on January 20th at 1pm. There will be no formal funeral services prior or after this. Please contact the family for any flowers, gifts, donations or condolences you may wish to give.
