Obituary

John C. “Butch” Chiddix Jr., 69, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away June 4, 2021 at Merriam Gardens. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, June 19, 2021 at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.

John “Butch” was born May 2, 1952 in Kansas City MO. He was a avid hunter and fisherman. He grew up on a cattle farm and later worked for Jackson County Parks and Rec. He never had children of his own but was like a second father to his niece and nephews, his great nieces and great nephew, and great great nieces and nephews. One of his favorite things was taking them fishing. Butch was a loving, caring person who will be deeply missed. He has returned home to be with his family and friends, at peace and healthy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille M. (Willoughby) Chiddix, his father, John C. Chiddix Sr. and nephew, Allen Easterla. Survivors include his niece and husband, Tammy R. and James M. Hickey, Nephew; Nathan N. Anderson, great nieces and nephews; Ashley and Jake DePeralta, Caleb Hickey and Brooke Hickey. Great great nieces and nephews; Jace, Halle, Ava, Connor and Hunter.
