Judith R. Noland

Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Judith “Judy” R. Noland on April 16, 2025.

Judy was born on July 14, 1940, in Kansas City, MO to Mildred L. Williams and George Romanchuk. After growing up on her family farm in Oak Grove, Judy attended the University of Central Missouri where she pursued a degree in education, was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, and met the love of her life Michael Noland. Shortly after marriage, they purchased their beloved farm, which they named “Questover”.  Mike and Judy created a beautiful family, one that Judy would take every opportunity to share about. She spent over 50 years as one of the biggest champions for young children in the Lee’s Summit School District and in the State of Missouri through the Parents as Teachers Program.  Through this passion and dedication she changed the lives of many.  Judy will be remembered for her compassion for others, her commitment to educating, and her immense love for horses and humans alike.  She left a legacy to be revered and respected by all.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Mildred and George Romanchuk, and her brothers Steve Romanchuk and John Romanchuk.  She is survived by her husband Michael Noland; daughter Jessie Noland; son Thad Noland; grandchildren Kennedy and Dillan Noland; and many family, friends, neighbors, former students and colleagues who loved and admired her.

A visitation will be held at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, MO on April 22, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00.  A private burial will be held at a later date.

Truly one of the most giving and beautiful souls God ever made. The lives she touched are too numerous to count but emensley loved and appreciated. It was an honor to know and love her. God bring blessings upon her family who so deeply mourns the loss of an amazing person.

I had the privilege to work for Judy at the Parents As Teachers, when they were in the house in front of Underwood Elementary. Even though I had a background in education, I learned so much more about young children and how they develop skills, through Judy. I cherished my time with her and the other Parent Educators. I loved our times together when we would attend the monthly Retired School Personnel meetings. She saw me through a cancer scare, always asked about my own children, and I loved her stories about her own family. The world of education has lost a great teacher and fried. RIP boss.

It was a pleasure to work beside Judy on the CAC. Her wealth of knowledge and wisdom were unmatched and she will be very missed. Condolences to her family as they continue life’s journey without their matriarch. Rest easy, Judy.

I will always remember Judy’s kindness. She was quick to give sincere compliments. Her love of her family and friends was always evident. She had the patience of a saint. And I am always grateful for her advice about education and my career. I can still hear her laughing at me, I mean with me, as we trotted through the fields on horseback.

She was one of a kind and made me a better person just by being in my life! My life is so much better for her being in it.

From my wife Marydee to our now adult children
Judy Noland died. I know you probably won’t remember her well. She was the Parents As Teathers rep who visited you from birth till 3. Ferrell she took you to her house while I was in hospital having Trent. You spent the night and got to hang on her farm with her horses.
Trent she told me something once that really influenced how I raised you…you wouldn’t so much as learn to read, but read to learn. It stuck with me. She also marveled at your interest in money. The old identify a quarter, nickel and dime routine…but you added them up instead, told her they were 40 cents. I will always remember that, and her influence. Kate, you made her laugh, she knew you were gonna be a person of good character. And Toe, you loved when she visited. All those things she pulled out of her bag, they weren’t just toys, they were tools to help me see how fast you all learned, how much you absorbed. I will forever be grateful to her as she was very much a surrogate mother to me while you were all so young and I was clueless.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Friend from the past. I lost my Deanna. Things really changed.

Judy was a beautiful and compassionate person both inside and out. I felt so fortunate to know and work with Judy at the early childhood center at the start of the program in the Lee’s Summit school district. We worked together for 13 years. We both shared our love for children and our love for horses. Judy will be deeply missed by the many people who’s lives she touched. Healing thoughts and prayers for her entire family. Sincerely Diane Mesa

The loss of someone like Judy creates a vacuum hard to describe. She was our sister-in-law for over 60 years and she brought love, care, joy and laughter to our family. We will so miss our frequent lunch dates when we looked back on old times with humor and love.
We are blessed to have those lovely family memories of Judy.
Mike, Jessie and Thad, we are so sorry for your loss.

Elaine and Sandy Nulliner. She was SANDY’S kindergarten teacher and Sandy still have fond memories of those days. She was a loving and helpful neighbor who will be missed. Sending prays to the family

I began boarding horses with Judy when I was just 15. She was one of the most beautifully genuine people I’ve ever known. I’ll never forget her sound advise, talks with her on her back porch, riding our horses down Howard Road and fall farrier days when she would make us home made apple cider. She was a very special part of my horse world and I will never forget the kindness she showered on everyone—including all the 4 legged friends that were lucky enough to live at Questover. My love goes out to her beautiful family.

I am so sad to hear of Judy’s passing, but so grateful to have had the opportunity to care for her the last several months of her life. She was such a beautiful soul! I used to always say that she must have been a saint as a teacher for her students to come see her in the nursing home when they are in their 60’s!!! What an incredible impact she made! I didnt get to care for her long, but I loved her dearly. I will always remember her. Rest in peace sweet Judy!

Judy was an awesome lady and will be missed by many. God definitely got another Angel when he took her home

To the Nolan family, Judy is a wonderful gift that keeps on giving! We have moved away long ago but the lessons and the information that flowed from her and her smile and contagious laugh!! From horse instructions to early childhood advise. Judy was a constant fountain head of knowledge!! What a Great Life !!! Thank you so much Teri and Chandler and Justin and Chandler and Kate Bowser.

Mrs. Noland was my Kindergarten teacher at Mason Elementary in 1967. She was my favorite and always made sure I was doing good. I didn’t have a great childhood and I think she suspected that so gave me all the loving she could at school. I will never forget her.
