Obituary
Keaton Charles Miller
With shattered hearts and abiding love, we announce that our precious Keaton Charles Miller, age 17, completed his earthly journey and entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 12, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
Keaton was born on November 23, 2007 in Flint, Michigan to David and Elizabeth (Herrera) Miller. He attended Lee’s Summit West High School and was close to completing his junior year. Keaton was a proud member of the LSW wrestling team. His determination, strength, and humility shone both on and off the mat.
Keaton was a light in this world — a kind, witty, and fiercely brave young man whose presence brought joy and inspiration to all who knew him. He had a deep and thoughtful soul, an old wisdom wrapped in a teenage smile.
In April 2024, Keaton was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Over the course of thirteen courageous months, he faced every challenge with unmatched resilience, unwavering faith, and his signature humor. Even in his hardest moments, Keaton lifted others, making nurses laugh, comforting his family, and declaring with bold conviction that he was “fine” — always more concerned about those around him than himself. Keaton achieved remission from the leukemia and bravely underwent a bone marrow transplant in hope to maintain his remission and live a long and fulfilling life. His family will always remember him as a warrior who never backed down no matter the odds.
Keaton loved his faith, Legos, gaming, fishing, sports, weightlifting, music, good food (especially his dad’s cooking), driving his car, WWE, the University of Michigan sports, spending time with family and friends, and being with his beloved dog.
Keaton is forever loved and survived by his parents David and Elizabeth (Herrera) Miller, three sisters: Kaylie Beckley, Kirah (Baylor) Dunham, Kyan Miller, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, caregivers, and community members who stood by him in prayer and support. Keaton is preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Dorothy (Deyo) Miller, Dale and Minnie (Aguirre) Fischhaber, Raymond Herrera and uncle Floyd Miller.
The Miller family will receive family and friends at Abundant Life Core Building in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with visitation on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral will take place at Abundant Life Church, Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. officiated by Phil Hopper, with interment to follow at Longview Cemetery. A dinner will be held at Abundant Life Church following the interment. Friends are invited to wear Team Keaton shirts or something navy in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
We are heartbroken, but not without hope. We know Keaton is healed and whole in Heaven, and we cling to the promise of reunion. Until then, we will carry him with us in every sunrise, every wrestling match, and every act of kindness — we are forever Team Keaton.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Keaton, thank you for being the most genuine, kind hearted young man we’ve ever known. Without question, you accepted people as they were and treated them all equally. I am so impressed with everything about you. Dave, Liz, I’ve never met such strong, resilient, funny, amazing humans; you truly are the best. I’ll pray everyday you can find some sort of peace in the pride you have for your son and all he’s accomplished in earth in such a short amount of time. Love unconditionally, forever- Lilly

knowing keaton in itself was a blessing, however getting to KNOW him was much more than just a blessing. it was a privilege to have shared time with such a kind, pure person. from his silly gradeschool antics to his grown handsome self, he was always there undoubtedly for others. ill miss you forever dear.
Knowing Keaton were the best years of my life. He was the brightest and funniest soul. I cherish every memory from our classes and every talk that we had about his updates. I have so much I’ve learned from him about how to live, love others, and cherish the precious life we live. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I’ll thank God that he is safe in the arms of our lord savior for eternity.

Dear Miller Family,
We are terribly sorry for your loss. Keaton seemed like such an amazing young man who will be greatly missed. Brittany’s GM family has made a contribution to Ronald McDonald House in Keaton’s honor. We are sending our thoughts and condolences to you during this difficult time.
We were fortunate to meet Keaton recently when he came to our grandson Grady’s home. Such a nice, good looking kid. We extend our sympathy to you and have Keaton & you in our thoughts & prayers. 🙏❤️
Dear Keaton,
You always knew how to make me laugh even when you where going through this. First thing Keaton told me when he found out he had cancer was “It’s character development mariya”. He was always so happy even at his worst. You were the light in a lot of people’s life including mine. I’ll forever miss you and the memories we made from 2am phone calls hanging out at Kinley’s, all of it. You warm presence lingers forever. May you rest easy friend. Love you lots – Riya 💗
Dave, Liz and Family , I can’t even imagine what you’re experiencing right now, mere words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. I am praying that our Heavenly Father would help you in this great time of grief and that He would grant you comfort, healing and a peace beyond all understanding as time passes.

We are so sorry for your loss, though we never got to meet Keaton. He was so loved by his family and friends. He was a strong young man. Now Keaton is in heaven with GOD and is going to be watching over his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and will be in our hearts and prayers.
Sending you all so much love and keeping you in my thoughts.
Praying for the family! May the Lord bless and keep you in his comfort and love during this time.
Keaton’s grandpa (Raymon Herrera) and I are first cousins from Texas.
I’m so sorry for your loss you and your family are in my prayers.
What a tremendous loss you have experienced. We are so sorry. God bless you and hold you close to Him. I see Keaton in his Grandmother Minnie’s arms. Liz, Keaton chose you and Dave for his parents, and he could not have made a better choice. You have been the ones to nurture and guide him throughout his life, showing him the way to be. And from what I see, he became one of the best. And thank God for his sisters, too, who stood close to him throughout his journey. Not everyone has a family so dedicated. God bless you all. With love, Chadd and Judy
Keaton was older in wisdom than in age! Unfortunately, he wasn’t the only young person I knew who died from leukemia! A brother’s nephew died when he was 14 from cancer, and like Keaton, he was brave, and knew he loved his family!! Keaton was good to all, no bad bone in his body! He treated everyone with love and respect, no matter who they were! A true Christian child! God Bless Keaton and those he loved, and thank you for sharing Keaton with us! He will be remembered and cherished by all!!
