He was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 18, 1939. He lived his entire life in the Kansas City area.

Keith is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra and his two daughters, Kerri (Randy) Gasser of Grain Valley, Missouri and Dr. Kristi Logan (Dr. Mathew Smidt) of Auburn, Alabama, and five grandchildren: grandson Dr. Joseph (Abbey) Gasser of Salisbury, Maryland; granddaughter Hailey (Sam) McIntosh of Cuba, Missouri, granddaughter Kaylyn (Traven) Gasser of Mission, Kansas; granddaughter Cecilia Smidt of Nashville, Tennessee; grandson Henry Smidt of Auburn, Alabama; and sister-in-law Marci Pinto of Overland Park, Kansas. During the early years of their marriage, Keith worked at Trader’s Bank of Kansas City and the Cattleman’s Association. In 1970, he began working for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where he stayed until he retired in 1994.

For many years, summers were spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, where Keith enjoyed spending time with family and boating. Golf was a passion for Keith. He participated in a weekly league for the Fed for many years. Once retired, he joined a golf league in Lee’s Summit and gained a new set of friends. He and Sandra enjoyed vacationing at the beach and traveled to the Gulf Coast of Alabama and Florida many times during retirement. In 2021, they relocated to John Knox in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Keith and Sandra — you will both be missed by all your high school friends. I was friends with Keith from Central High. Keith’s was very involvement in organizing the several Class Reunions we had over the years. His efforts to get Barbara Mallory to make the drive from Lawrence, KS was heroic indeed, but alas in vane. Keith was always on the straight and narrow, and I was always on the thin edge of trouble. I do not recall if Keith was in the Honors English class where John Hickman, without the knowledge of class mates, threw a fake “epileptic fit.” If he wasn’t in the class, he was close by.

Keith, if you run into John and Judy please, please tell them hello for us.

Larry and Betty Schwab.

Keith and I met in a gym class at Central Jr. High school in 1953. Our teacher was Mr. Craig. Keith and I kept in touch over the years through our Central bonding days. He was always interested in sports that we had in common. Our many reunion committee meetings were special with past Central eagle friends. Keith always took the lead in organizing them. I am pleased and have good memories that our paths crossed in our life time. May he RIP!

Keith and I worked on several projects together at the Federal Reserve Bank. I enjoyed working with him and I think we accomplished a major change in check processing and Fed Fed back in the 70s. My condolences to the family.

Keith and Sandy will be so missed. I have known both of them since Central High School days. Keith was the most nostalgic of all of us and always was the head organizer of our reunions. Even though Sandy was a year behind us in school, she was always a good sport about putting up with the ’57 group’s meetings at the Logan’s home. I am so glad to.have known them.

Prayers for the family. My husband, Larry, passed away in 2021 was a classmate of Keith and worked on the class reunions with him. Even though I didn’t go to Central, I always enjoyed their reunions. And I don’t think Keith ever forgot anyone name.

I loved my uncle Keith I remember him coming to my little league games. The times at grandma and grandpa on St.John the Christmas eves we spent together. I would love to hear from you all your the only family I have (816)814-2158
