Obituary
Kelly Ann Francis, 61, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2025, at her home. She was born on April 3, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Stanley Sherman and Connie Eliot.
Kelly graduated from Raytown South High School in Raytown, Missouri, with the Class of 1982. On November 10, 1984, she married her high school sweetheart, and they welcomed their first daughter, Amber, on May 17, 1985.
Kelly devoted her early years to raising her children as a loving stay-at-home mom. She cherished countless days with her dear friend Martha, raising their children side by side, spending time attending garage sales, playing with their children, and preparing meals together while their husbands worked. On May 31, 1988, Kelly and her husband welcomed their second daughter, Ashley. Her passion for being a mother continued to shine.
As her girls grew older and started school, Kelly decided to enter the workforce. She began working at Walmart, where she spent many years in the cash auditing office, building lasting relationships and establishing her career. In 2000, she joined RSO/Cargo Largo, where she worked faithfully until her passing. Kelly was known for her dedication, and the friendships she built with customers and coworkers alike—bonds that will endure for years to come.
Kelly was a devoted and loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren and loved her girls with all her heart. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind countless memories of laughter, love, and unwavering support.
She had a passion for Harley-Davidson memorabilia, collecting clothing, treasures, and keepsakes over the years, with the dream of owning a Harley of her own someday.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Warren Eliot, grandmother Elizabeth Eliot, grandpa C.N, Grandma ADA Sherman, aunt Phyllis Nichols, cousin Shelly Osburn, and stepfather Lynn Scoles.
Kelly is survived by her father, Stan Sherman and his wife Marta; her mother, Connie Scoles; her sister, Stephanie Miller and husband Kenny; her daughters, Amber Schewe and husband Jordan, and Ashley Ramsey and husband Evan; her niece, Tera Connelly and husband Kenny; her nephew Brad Miller; her beloved grandchildren, Kylie, Raylee, Adalie, and her soon-to-be granddaughter, great nephew Jaxon and great niece Emery, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Langford Funeral Home, 115 SW Third Street, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her bold personality, colorful spirit, laughter, and endless love for her family.

Kelly was a good friend of mine. We worked together at Cargo Largo. We also lived just a couple of miles from each other in Raytown. It is so hard for me to think about her being gone. I am going to miss her so much. She was funny, feisty, full of life, and dedicated to those she called friend. My prayers goes out to all that knew her. I feel blessed to have known her and to call her friend. Rest in peace lady, you and your inspiration will live on in our hearts.
I just recently met Kelly, she was such a kind person with a passion for animals as myself, and a friendship that would have lasted an eternity. She will be missed by so many, may she be at peace with the love of God.
Kelly, we don’t meet our soul sisters my accident. They show up right on time often in the most unexpected ways., to remind us who we are and that we’re not alone and to walk with us through this beautiful mess call life. You are and were more than just my soul sister.
You were my sister love you as my sister just from another mother?
I’m gonna miss you more than I can say ride high on that “Harley.” I’ll see you sister again some day love you Debbie S.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers for Family and Friends as you move through these hard times. Hold tight to those memories. I didn’t really know Kelly her Mother Connie is a very special loving thoughtful woman so I can only imagine how sweet and kind Kelly was. Rest in peace
I had the privilege of working one-on-one with Kelly on many projects over the years, and in every one of them, she brought a rare mix of professionalism, warmth, humor with a devilish hint of humor and sarcasm.. Her smile had a way of lighting up the room and making you smile too, no matter the day. Kelly’s love for Harley Davidson was unmatched; I could never get my hands on one because she always managed to snag them off the floor before I even got there. Be with God, Kelly. We’ll miss you more than words can say.
Im at a loss for words. I’ve known Kelly for over 15yrs now. She was my mom’s best friend. And a really good friend of mine as well. The last yr of my life has not been easy. my mom and Kelly have been the only 2 ladies in my life who kept me sane and supported me. And was there. Just days before she left us to go to her forever home I was privileged enough to share a whole Saturday and partial Sunday with her as she barrowed me for some moving muscle. Moments that I will cherish till we meet again. My sadness stems from selfishness, because being a man of God I know that she is in a much better place. One that has no fear, no anger, no heartbreak. Only love and an unlimited supply of it. So i say this to you kelly “enjoy the ride, well be right behind ya, shortly.. oh and tell big man I want my bike in green”!!
My dearest friend Kelly, my heart is broken. I tried to contact you all week not knowing of your passing. I am lost without you. I can’t imagine my life not seeing your BEAUTIFUL FACE, or hearing your sweet voice again. I know you were not ready to leave your precious Daughters or amazing Grandchildren. I wish you could have seen all of them one more time. Then you would have been ok. My heart breaks that did not happen for you. I wish you could have been here for Ambers new baby. I know you were proud for her and wanted to tell her that. And I know you were proud of the mother Ashley has been also. I promise I will let them know for you. Life will never be the same without you. UNTILL WE MEET AGAIN. Tears and Hugs.
Words can not express how sad my life will be without MY BEST FRIEND. SHE WAS LIKE A SISTER TO ME. Our love for our children is a major bond we shared alike. No matter what life threw us, we never stopped being MOMS. And Grand mommy’s. This i know better then anyone. I will miss you until I see you again Kelly. My life has forever changed. And I LOVE YOU FOREVER. REST IN PEASE ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL HARLEY. I KNOW YOUR RIDING ONE NOW.
