Obituary
Kimberly Karel Riegel
December 21,1965 – June 4, 2025
Lee’s Summit, MO – Kimberly Karel Riegel passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2025. Kim was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 21, 1965 to Gary and Mollye Glasgow.
In 1972 Kim moved to Lamar, Missouri where she met her high school sweetheart Ted Riegel. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1984. While in high school she was very active in 4-H, played the trumpet in the Stage and marching bands and won numerous All-around awards from the American Quarter Horse Association riding her beloved horse Tip-Toe.
On August 3, 1985 Kim married Ted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamar. Kim spent her Freshman Year at Central Methodist College before completing her Bachelor of Animal Science Degree at Southwest Missouri State University in 1988.
Kim’s favorite titles were: Mother of Twins and “The Feeder”. She combined both these titles while catering for the National Wrasslin’ League (NWL), which she said was one of her most enjoyable experiences. Mrs. Riegel was also an educator sharing her knowledge about animals with anyone who was having pet problems. She also served several long-term substitute-teaching positions at Greenwood Elementary and Woodland Elementary Schools.
Kim’s passion for life was obvious to those around her, which might be why one of her favorite quotes was “Well behaved women rarely make history!”.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother Mollye. She is survived by her Father Gary, her husband Ted, twin sons Logan and Sterling and Daughters-in-law Auzzi and Laura.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Chain of Hope (www.chainofhopekc.org).

Ted (Theo),
My words cannot express the heart felt sorrow I feel for your loss of Kim. We had so many great memories growing up together. Sharing double dates together in high school, sports, band and all the crazy made-up small-town fun we did together. Lord knows we had to create a lot and that place. Life gets short with the loss of a loved one. Hold on to the great memories, fun and laughter you had together. Those things will keep you lifted up. God has a special place for Kim. God Bless you and your family. You always have a friend in Broken Arrow, Ok.
Sincerely and best wishes,
Steven Bryan
I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Kim’s passing. I enjoyed having her as a classmate in the Lamar Class of 1984. I always thought that I’d get by the coin shop to possibly see her.
I enjoyed following the twins on Facebook as they wrestled and seeing pictures of the lovely dogs. I am so extremely sorry. I will keep Kim’s family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
In God’s Love, Jill Adams
I was so shocked to hear this news . I just did her nails two days ago. She look very normal and fine and happy. I am so sorry. I wish her still happy always.
I spent many hours with the Glasgows learning to ride, train, and show horses. Kim was my friend, and I loved and admired her very much. Sending love and condolences to Gary, Ted, and family.
Prayers for Ted and the family as they celebrate Kim’s life! She was a one of a kind and a great lady! She loved her sons, husband and horses!
My heart is broken for the family and friends. I was blessed to have known Kim for what seems like such a short time of the last few years. Her heart was huge and she was so kind. I’m thankful for the times she was there for my boys, my sister and nieces. This is a tremendous loss to all of us. My love pours out to Ted, Logan, Auzzi, Sterling, Laura and the entire family.
Kim was the absolute best friend anyone could ever have. She befriended me when her boys were in my class and we became fast friends. She was like a sister and we never felt like we had enough time to talk. I will miss walking with her, going to the dog park, grabbing drinks and “appies”, dinner dates with our husbands, her life lessons, and her absolute passion for life and fun. She loved her friends like family. She would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. I am so thankful for her friendship of over 20 years. I will miss her terribly, but I know she’s with our Lord and Savior.
We are so saddened to hear of Kim’s passing. She was a bigger than life person who could warm up a room. We watched her grow up as we were in the Rod-tiques with Gary and Mollye.
Kim and Ted were such a wonderful couple together and seemed very happy.
Prayers for strength , Gary, Ted, Logan and Sterling.

My prayers and love goes out to The Riegel Family. Such a beautiful soul and spirit will be dearly missed. 🙏
Ted.Logan, sterling,Gary you are in my thoughts and prayers. Reading the above was such a wonderful tribute to very spectacular lady and friend., One can discern a persons character truly by how they treat animals and people. That empathy she had truly shows she was an Angel on Earth. She definitely took after Mollye in that regard.,Ted, I’ve always admired you both, witnessing you dating in school and thru the decades of your marriage. That is an experience I’ll never know or have myself. I just always thought that was just pretty damn cool. You all are in my thoughts and prayers and if any of you need anything just tell me. Love you Guys!
May the Grace& peace of our lord & Savior Jesus Christ,be with the family at this time of grief. No words can take away your grief. My hope is that you can find peace. We are not able to make the trip, but please know that the whole family will be held up in by my family 🙏 sorry isn’t enough 😢 Monte &Tammy Jarvis.

I’m so very sorry Ted. Thinking of you and the boys. -Deb Ballard
Kim and I met the day we moved across the street from them in 1992. From the moment we connected we formed a friendship like no other. We could talk to each other about anything. We spent endless hours together cooking, shopping, chatting on our decks, walking – even in frigid temperatures, we took trips to Lamar with our kiddos, numerous canoe trips and so much more. Although, we were apart for a few years, when we reunited it was like we had never missed a minute apart. She was my best friend, and I will miss her dearly. Ted, Logan, Sterling, Auzzi and Laura please know I am here for you all and I will be calling upon you for support as well. She truly was a special person and had no enemies. Until we meet again, Kim, I love you. Love to Ted and all the family as you navigate through this tragedy.
Love,
Jody Claspill
Words cannot convey my sorrow for this unexpected loss. I last saw Ted and Kim a number of years ago where they showed up unexpectedly at a club I was performing at. I was touched that they had come and I enjoyed catching up with them. Kim bragged about her boys and showed pictures. She was so proud of her family! You are all in my prayers.
To the family of Kimberly, our hearts reach out to yours with sympathy and caring.
Sincerely, Thomas and Georgia Hunt, your neighbor
Ray and I send our heartfelt sympathy to Ted and the family. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I am still in tears knowing that someone so full of life and so much left to live was taken from so many that loved her so dearly TOO EARLY!
I loved reading that: “Well behaved women rarely make history!”.
May we all go down in history kicking and screaming! Shout it to the rooftops, let everyone know how you feel ALWAYS! Bless you Kim, please look over your family and make sure they know that you will always be there with them…..
Ted, Logan&Auzzi, Sterling&Laura and Gary,
I am still in shock and my heart is broken with yours. Kim was the absolute BEST with a heart of gold and she had the most beautiful soul a person could have. Words cannot come close to expressing my sadness. She was my ‘go to’ for everything! To say she made this world a better place is an understatement. Kim was the truest most genuine friend I could have asked for , as I know she was to many. I miss her so much ~ love you all Yetahay
