Obituary

Kristina (Kristi) Dawn Cox, age 38 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away May 10th, 2022. The visitation is Monday May 16th, from 4-7pm at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit and the memorial service is Tuesday, May 17th at 10am at Langsford Funeral Home.Kristi was born in Independence on May 27th, 1983 and moved to Lee’s Summit at the age of 5. She was always so caring and looked after everyone so it was only natural when she decided to become a nurse. She graduated from National American University in May 2009, with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN for 13 years, including several years as a charge nurse.Kristi was extremely family oriented and loved spending time with her family, both immediate and extended. She helped take care of her grandma, Ramona Cox, in Ramona’s final years, and after she passed away in 2014 Kristi bought her house. She always said she loved how the house still smelled like her grandma. She met her partner Corey Mack in 2016 and they lived together in Lee’s Summit. She loved spending time with Corey playing video games and cuddling with their dog Sadie, and cats Silas and Tia.She had the kindest heart and truly loved to help people. She cared about everyone so much, both people and animals. She loved to travel and went to Germany and Ireland, along with many other places. She loved both mountains and beaches, and nature in general. She was getting into gardening and just loved to be outside (but preferably under some shade or about an inch of sunscreen because she joked she would burn within 30 seconds in the sun!)While Kristi did love to travel she also loved to stay in as well. In her spare time she liked to read, play video games, and relax with Corey and her animals at home (when she wasn’t chasing her ornery chickens!) She also always had a gift for drawing and would create sketches; she was always particularly fond of drawing horses, even when she was a kid.She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Cox Jr; grandparents Ramona Cox, Walter Cox, and George Curtis; aunt Carolyn Clark; and uncle Stephen Lovelace. She will be sadly missed by her parents Michael (Glenice) Cox and Rhonda Cox; sister Angela Cox; partner Corey Mack; grandmother Ramona Curtis (Charles); stepsister Erin Rathbun and family; stepbrother Matthew Rathbun and family; uncles Steven Cox and Edward Curtis; aunts Donna Lovelace and Barbara Termes (Bill); 8 cousins, and many other family members and friends.Kristi was an amazing listener and confidante. She was a calming person to be around but also super fun. She was quick witted and loved to make people laugh. Words will never be able to fully describe what an amazing daughter, sister, and friend she was and how dearly she will be missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Inc. Her grandmother suffered from Parkinson’s disease so the cause was very near to her heart. The Cox family would love for you to share your memories of Kristi at:

Rhonda-
I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing of Kristi. Sometimes life just isn’t fair. Take comfort in the memories and in knowing what an amazing momma you were to her. She will be missed by so many. You, your family and Kristi’s friends will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I’m always here for you if you need me. Hugs.

Hello to the Reader,

I had the privilege of patience-residency gifted from Kristina. Her beams of her Green Heart 💚 lit my looming nights or days as a smile always masked her mash or human experience as she accomplished phenomenal and eloquently her rounds. I am unsure if she aiding in my 2 nd push for pregnancy yet she is a nightly of the triplet-pregnancy she shared her unconditional support as well as care for!

Thanks for all the intentional efforts to her friends as well as family that were present as well as pixelated as well as her entirety of days of her continued intentional efforts to light the universal way, in lingering the life she leaves unearthed behind! She is a puzzle piece in the role models that inspired me to continue education and knowing my whole worth!
