Obituary

Larry R. Kelley, a resident of the Wood’s Chapel area of Lee’s Summit, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 while in a care residence in Raytown. MO.  He was born February 16, 1948 to Paul and Mary Kelley and died 8 days short of being 73 years old.

 Larry lived all his life in the Wood’s Chapel area and attended Blue Springs schools, graduating in 1966.  He later graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a degree in Business.  His activities while growing up included raising calves and showing horses, participating both in 4-H and County Fairs.

 He was a member of Blue Springs Church of Christ.  Much of his time in later years was spent with square dancing groups in Jackson County.

 Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.  He is survived by his sister Sharon Hammar and her husband, Phil of Kearney, Nebraska; a niece Kelly Hammar and her husband, Kirk of Houston, Texas, one great nephew and one great niece.

 Arrangements are under the direction of Langford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 (10 am Visitation and 11 am Service)
