We are so saddened to hear of Laura’s passing. My memories of her are nothing but wonderful. She was a major part of my childhood being nest friends with my mom. She was wild and tame at the same time and always let you know what she really thought. Laura was the rock that my mom leaned on for forty years. They were often close and sometimes distant but she was ALWAYS there when she was needed and my gratitude for who she was for my mom can’t be put into words.
My fondest memory of Laura was in my early teens. She knew I was a huge chiefs fan and she somehow got tickets to a fundraiser with Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith and invited me along. The chiefs made the playoffs and neither of the stars could attend in the end, but she still took me and I came home with tons of memorabilia. Maybe those events were second nature for her but I had never been to Hereford house before. I was in awe and that is the first time I remember thinking that there is a world much bigger than the one I knew. I was forever grateful for that night and I’m not even sure she ever knew how much it meant to me. I hope she hears me now.
On behalf of all of the Benders, we love you, we will miss you, and you will forever be a part of us. Hopefully the part that reminds us to speak the truth and never bite our tongues!
Rest in Peace Laura.
My heart hurts for your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many amazing memories from highschool that include your mom. I can still hear her laugh and see her smile. I know she will be missed beyond measure.
Zane and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Laura’s passing. She was such a nice lady. Always had smiles and big heart. God bless you all as you journey through your grief.
I worked with Laura at CNA insurance for a year. Every time I saw her, she would greet me with a smile. I’ll never forget our conversations and giggles we had at work. We talked about our families, dogs, and the joy that grandchildren bring to families. She was such a positive light in my day at CNA. Her warm and welcoming aura is something I will never forget. She is a wonderful woman and I’m glad to have met her. My condolences and prayers go out to the family. – Kelsey Kampschroeder

Deepest condolences on the loss of Laura. She and I met via telephone around 20 years ago through a work relationship. She became a friend as well as a trusted colleague. I am grateful for her advice, dedication, warmth and integrity. She touched the lives of many and her absence leaves a profound void.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and work with her.

Zane and all of Laura’s family, my wife Kathie and I send you are deepest sympathies on the passing of Laura. Laura and I worked hand in hand at CNA for 13 years. I could not have done my job without her. She supported me and provided counsel to me every day we worked together. She did so much for so many in the branch. She was the “heart” of the office. In addition to all the work she did, she was a lot of fun. She made me laugh and could read me like a book. I hope she knew how much she meant to me and everyone at CNA. Thank you Laura for everything! God bless you and God bless Zane and all of Laura’s family.
Zane on behalf of the Goergen family i want to pass along our condolences on the loss of Laura.
Laura was a truly a special woman. I had the pleasure to work with Laura at CNA and had gotten to know her over the years. She was the backbone to our office. Laura had a solution to any problem, a fix to anything that we broke, or was good for a laugh or funny story. She was the queen of coordinating lunches, events and teambuilders inside the office, but also would show up outside of work at sporting events and cheer showcases to support coworkers kids. Laura came to work with such a positive attitude and helpful smile which we all dearly miss already.
Prayers to Zane and family, she will truly be missed and was taken from us all way too soon.
With Love, Alyssa Metheny

We quickly became more then coworkers. Her laugh was infectious, she was so knowledgeable and was always willing to help.
