Obituary
Lorraine was born on March 13, 1931 to Noah M. and Florence Rutherford in Madison, KS, the youngest of 9 children. Her father passed away while she was 2 and she learned a homesteader lifestyle. This became a basis for her quick wit, strong work ethic, and generous humor she gave in her life.
After moving to Raytown, MO in 1953, she met and married Mr. Alma Dwaine Keehler on March 3, 1958. They lived in Lee’s Summit and she worked in several area restaurants and nursing homes as a fry cook. She ended her career working in dietary services at the Richard-Gebaur Air Force Base retiring in 1993. Lorraine was known for her delicious pies and enjoyment of gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, and studying prophetic events.
Lorraine passed away on October 31st of heart failure at age 94. She is survived by her loving husband, Alma Dwaine Keehler, two children, Esther (Larry) York of Kansas City, Mo. and James (Cyndi) Keehler of Kingsville, Mo, along with two grandchildren, Stephanie (Devin) Hart of Liberty, Mo. and Jonathan Keehler of Sedalia, Mo. plus two great-grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Hart, and her brother, John Rutherford of Las Vegas, NV.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings: Mildred Cornwell, Margorie “Mae” Stillwell, Rose Cathcard, Samuel, William, Norman, and Morris Rutherford, and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Hart.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 6th at 12:00 p.m. at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. with Funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.
