Obituary
Lowell “Spike” Kenneth Heineman
Lowell Kenneth Heineman, 84, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 28, 1940, in Falls City, Nebraska, Lowell dedicated his career to the telecommunications industry, working as an Electrical Technician for Western Electric, South Western Bell, and AT&T.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marilyn Heineman; his children, David Heineman (Miki), Debbie Heineman (Larry Schumacher), and Mark Heineman; his grandchildren, Bradley Heineman, Amber Moore (AJ), Mandy Laddish, Austin Heineman, and Moya Long (Dakota); and his great-grandchildren, Cillian Moore, Mia Long, and Maverick Long.
Lowell was a man of many talents and passions. In his youth, he excelled as a high school diver, earning numerous awards. He won many billiard tournaments and was an active participant in WECOMO rifle tournaments. A true survivor, Lowell courageously battled cancer.
Retirement brought a renewed appreciation for the simple pleasures. He became an avid walker, meticulously noting any illegally placed yard signs and diligently picking up litter along his routes. Lowell cherished spending time with his family, especially enjoying watching his grandchildren play sports. He also found joy in water skiing, boating, and fishing.
A memorial service celebrating Lowell’s life will be held on February 15th at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 700 NE Chipman Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
