Obituary

Mario Alonzo Salinas, a beloved son, devoted father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 12, 2024. He was born on February 4, 1961, in Harlingen, TX, to Israel and Oralia Salinas. Mario is survived by his loving parents and his cherished son, David Andrew Salinas, along with his grandson, also named David Andrew Salinas. In addition to his immediate family, Mario is also survived by his siblings: Israel Salinas, Jr., Jose “Rick” Salinas, Jaime Salinas, and Lillie Yvette Salinas.

Mario had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid reader and writer, finding solace and inspiration in these two hobbies. As an enthusiastic football fan, Mario’s heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys, and he cheered for them with unwavering loyalty. Those who knew Mario remember him for his positivity and humor. His easy-going nature and infectious laughter brightened the lives of those who crossed his path. Mario approached life with a calm demeanor and an open heart, making him incredibly easy to be around. Despite facing health challenges since December 2019, Mario remained resilient and fought with courage and grace. His strength in the face of adversity inspired all who knew him. Though he may be gone from our sight, Mario’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
