Obituary
Marjorie (Marge) Egleston was born August 9, 1934, in Newton, Iowa, the only child of Leonard and Ethel Starrett. The Starrett’s soon moved to a farm where Marge spent her formative years and gradated high school in Kellog, Iowa in 1952.
Marge’s classmates remained lifelong friends and held bi-annual reunions for 60 years. These were joyful events and were held in various cities where classmates lived.
After High School she attended Monmouth College for a year, then moved to Kansas City with a girlfriend to look for jobs. KC is where she married and started her family. Her first child, Corey, was born in December of 1955, followed by a second son, Randy, in December of 1956.
When Marge’s sons were teenagers, a divorce left her raising her boys as a single parent, a job she was very dedicated to. She continued to work at Western Electric while raising her boys, retiring in 1988, after 25 years of service.
In 1986 she met and married Ralph Egleston. They became Challenge level square dancers and world travelers, visiting more than 30 countries and islands. Marge was a beautiful and loving person. She will be sorely missed, always loved, and never replaced.
A visitation will be held at the Langsford Funeral Home on May 30, 2024, at 10:00AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM. Burial will follow the service at the Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

Only Jesus loved her more than we did! Loving, kind, helpful and gracious. It was a pleasure having her as part of our family.
