In Memory of

Mark Warren Schumacher

Obituary

Mark Warren Schumacher went to Heaven on December 12th, 2025.

Mark was born on July 5th, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa to Dean and Sandy Schumacher.  Mark spent most of his childhood in North Dakota before moving to the Kansas City area.  He went to North Dakota High School before attending Moorhead State University.  He worked many years in the filter business with his father before moving on to American World Forwarders as a Freight Broker.  His last job was with New Beginnings where he assisted with audio testing.

Mark never left a project unfinished and was always willing to help you complete yours.  If there was anything you needed done around the house Mark was always the first one to show up to help.  He was a loving, caring man that would give you the shirt off his back.  Although the last couple of years, Mark’s health prevented him from doing the things he loved most to do (golf, fish, grill, cook) he never complained.

His passing leaves an irreplaceable hole in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing he is now breathing freely.  Throughout his life he was always putting others ahead of himself including in his passing by being an organ donor.

Mark is survived by his life partner of 24 years, Karen Willis of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  His father and mother, Dean and Sandy Schumacher of Leawood, Kansas, brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Darcey Schumacher of Overland Park, Kansas, nephew, Porter Schumacher of Overland Park, Kansas.  He is also survived by Karen’s children who considered him family, Kelly, Becky, Ty, Cole, and Noah Yarborough of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

A visitation will be held Monday December 22, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri

Memorial donations can be made to Lee’s Summit Christian Church, 800 NE Tudor Rd, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64086 in his memory.

Mark was a great person and he will be missed by many. Michael and I are thankful to have known him.
Marks years of service with our company and his dedication to his job has always been unmatched.
Rest easy Mark. Prayers and Hugs to the family.

Very sorry to see this Karen and family. I haven’t seen him in a few years but when I did, he was always very nice and happy. My prayers are with you all. May you rest peacefully,
Mark.

I’m so sorry to hear of Marks passing, we were good buddies even though we mostly just texted each other about golf and the Chiefs. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences Dean, Sandy, Lynn and Tyler and Karen. I’ve cried on and off since Lynn called to tell me about Mark. Knowing Mark for over 58yrs….so many memories…whether it was riding my horse Sandy or visiting Otto and Bernie and sliding down the carpeted stairs, or going to the lake. When we were little we were going to grow up to be cops together. Oh the beautiful memories . My heart is broken , as I’m going to miss our conversations, your laughs and that HUGE smile! You are at peace now. You will never be gone from my heart! Until we meet again. Cyndi Phelan
