Obituary

Mary Alice “Corky” Skinner we born in Bates City, MO to parents Dan & Angeline (Gooseman) Mansell she lived in Oak Grove, Independence, Raytown and Lee’s Summit. She retired from Bendix Corp (now AlliedSignal/Honeywell) after nearly 20 years as an Executive Assistant. She was involved in church, Scouts, amateur radio, Sweet Adeline’s and enjoyed hiking/backpacking in National Parks. She liked doing unusual things to celebrate her birthdays including a hot air balloon ride, helicopter tour of Las Vegas at night, snorkeling, climbing a 600-ft waterfall in Jamaica, white water rafting, hiking the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim, climbing the Rocky Mountains (including Long’s Peak 3 times) and at age 85…skydiving!

She was preceded in death by husband, Everett Skinner, brother Joe Mansell and sister, Lola Snider.

Survivors include son, Mike Williams (Shirley) Topeka KS, daughter Jan Woodside (John) Lee’s Summit, grandchildren Russ Williams, Denver, Greg Williams, Topeka, Katina Lonergan (Joe) Topeka, and great-grandsons Jonas and Dexter Lonergan, Topeka.
