In Memory of

Nancy Lou Dyke

December 19, 1961 - March 27, 2025

Obituary

Born on December 19, 1961, Nancy Lou Dyke was the youngest child of Richard and Peggy Gunderson. She grew up in Raytown, Missouri alongside her four siblings, then moved to Lee’s Summit in 1999, where she raised her two daughters, Veronica and Allison, and met the love of her life, Danny. She passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. She was 63.

Whether it was enjoying a slice of Kermit’s key lime pie in Key West, spending time on the boat at the Pomme or planting flowers in the backyard with Danny, Nancy loved soaking in the sunshine. She loved spending time with her family – shopping with her daughters and spoiling her grandkids were two of her favorite activities.

Nancy was known for her famous potato salad and loving her two bulldogs, Penelope and Winnie, immensely. Above all else, she will be remembered as someone who loved fiercely. She was strong, passionate and caring. Nancy would do anything for her family and friends and her love will never be forgotten.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Peggy Gunderson and siblings, Greg Gunderson and Cathy Bond. She is survived by her husband, Danny Dyke; daughters, Veronica Griffin and Allison Fuller; sisters, Mindy and Mel Gunderson; grandchildren Harlow and Teddy Griffin; niece Jordan Bond; sons-in-law, Adam Griffin and Will Fuller as well as many dear friends.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Friday, April 4 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lees Summit, Missouri. The visitation will start at 1pm followed by a service at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Lu Family Fund, which supports stage IV colorectal cancer patients seeking second opinions.

Nancy will be missed terribly. May her soul forever rest in eternal peace. I send my deepest sympathies to all who loves her.

Revelation 21:4 of the King James Version (KJV), it states: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

So sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace. Sending prayers of comfort to the family.

Nancy will be dearly missed. We enjoyed all the afternoons/evenings we spent so much time with she and Danny. Nancy adored Danny, her daughters and her grandbabies and Winnie more than life itself. She will be missed. We are praying for peace for Danny and the girls!
