Obituary

Naomi Ilene Taylor of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully at the age of 72, on Friday February 17, 2023 of natural causes.

Naomi Ilene was born to Charles and Ruby Thompson on June 11, 1950 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. To family, loved ones, friends and strangers, she was known as “Bunny”.

Bunny was the graduate of East High School in Kansas City, MO in 1968. Upon graduation she began her career working at Sears. From there, she worked as a claims agent with Employers Mutual Insurance Co. for nearly 30 years. But she saved her favorite job for last as she was the Beloved Lunch Lady of Highland Park Elementary School in Lee’s Summit for 15 years.

She leaves behind her husband of nearly 50 years, Robert/Bob Taylor, a son Troy, his wife Penny and two grandchildren Noah and Rowen. As well, she leaves behind a brother Alvin, two sisters Lola and Carolyn, 3 nephews, 4 nieces, and 10 cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pamela and nephew Robert Wayne.

Heaven gained an angle when Bunny was promoted to heaven. One of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. Though we haven’t seen her in a while we’ll always remember that smile and infectious laugh. Our sympathy to Bob, Troy and family.

Words can not express how much I loved this lady and Bob. They became fast friends and then family. Bunny will be remembered for her humor,laugh, baking, cooking and love of God. Rest in Peace sweet Bunny. I love you.

So sorry to hear that another one if my cousins has passed. Bunny was always a sweetheart to me. Rest in peace Bunny. I’m sure Uncle Charlie Aunt Ruby And Pam were waiting at the gates for you.
