Obituary
Natalie Kay Boswell-Key, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and faithful follower of Christ, passed away on August 13, 2025 at the age of 70. Natalie passed away peacefully with her husband by her side in their home in Lees Summit, Missouri.
Born on October 30, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to William Jennings Boswell and Nancy Lee Shryock- Boswell of Raytown, Missouri. Natalie was one of 7 children. She is survived by her six siblings, Jennifer Enloe, Nancy Crutcher, Carol Miles, Linda Hicks, Sue Swim and Alan Boswell. In her youth, Natalie was a gifted ballerina for the Kansas City Ballet. She attended and graduated from Raytown High School before attending Longview Community College. After meeting the love of her life, Charles Anthony Key, she became a Missionary for the Southern Baptist Church.
Natalie and Charles married on December 7, 1974. Together they had two daughters Olivia Colleen and Elisheva Ashley. They built their life and legacy together in Raytown and Lees Summit, Missouri. They enjoyed traveling together to many countries including Israel. Israel and the Jewish people became very dear to their hearts which lead to living there for a year with their daughters.
Natalie also had a heart for children and caregiving. She worked as a preschool teacher and later as a pharmacy technician for Humana. She was a strong fighter who battled a cancerous brain tumor in 1997, which disabled her from working any longer. Despite her disabilities she was a devoted grandmother to 7 and cherished spending time with them and helped babysit them alongside her husband. Her beloved grandchildren are Elijah Sheahan, Leo Sheahan, Clarissa Sheahan, Luke Throgmorton, Faith Throgmorton, Liam Throgmorton and Elianna Throgmorton.
Natalie’s life was a testimony to the love of Jesus, the beauty of humility, and the strength found in gentleness. Her legacy of faith, love and generosity lives on in her husband, children and grandchildren along with the countless lives she touched. She will be greatly missed however we know she is now whole again.

My sincerest condolences go out to Tony and all family and friends of Kay. I was thinking of her the other day and then I saw a post on Facebook for the class of 1973, RHS with her obit. Kay and I were friends at RHS and at Longview. If my memory serves me correctly, she met her husband, Tony on the Longview campus. We lost touch with each other. Kay was a beautiful person inside and out. I know she will be truly missed. Kay, Rest in Peace.
